Marvelous Marbled Mushies Workshop with Emma James-Ries from Turned & Burned Aotearoa
Discover Suminagashi (墨流し), the ancient Japanese technique of decorating with inks. It is believed to be the oldest form of marbling, originating in China over 2,000 years ago and practiced in Japan by Shinto priests as early as the 12th century. Suminagashi (sue-me-NAH-gah-she), which literally means “ink-floating” involves doing just that.
Join us for a unique and hands-on experience where you'll have the opportunity to unleash your creativity and make your own whimsical mini mushroom garden to take home.

Marbling Magic: Immerse yourself in the ancient art of marbling as Emma guides you through the mesmerizing process. Watch vibrant colors swirl and blend as you marble your very own psychedelic wooden mushrooms.
Ornamental Mushroom Fun: Marble and paint your own adorable mushrooms and assemble them into a magical mini fungi garden under the expert guidance…
