  • Suitable for: All skill levels, from nature enthusiasts to budding fungi finders
  • Requirements: Comfortable weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, a water bottle and a sense of curiosity.
  • Recommended 8+ years but all ages welcome
  • Free - bookings essential

About David Whyte:

David, a trained scientist (biotech industry) turned amateur mycologist, has contributed significantly to fungal observations on inaturalist.nz with nearly 4000 recorded observations, including exotic and indigenous fungi. As a passionate educator, David believes in making learning fun and accessible to all. He has appeared on live TV and has done presentations around New Zealand on a range of fungi topics. David is an active participant of Mushroom Hunting NZ, a vibrant Facebook community with nearly 60,000 members, and is the collector of multiple new to Western Science indigenous fungi.
