About David Whyte:
David, a trained scientist (biotech industry) turned amateur mycologist, has contributed significantly to fungal observations on inaturalist.nz with almost 6000 recorded observations, including exotic and indigenous fungi. As a passionate educator, David believes in making learning fun and accessible to all. He has appeared on live TV and has done presentations around New Zealand on a range of fungi topics. David is an active participant of Mushroom Hunting NZ, a vibrant Facebook community with nearly 60,000 members, and is the collector of multiple new to Western Science indigenous fungi.
